Description of Study: |
The purpose of this study is to learn more about how people, with and without Parkinson’s, explore and learn novel motor tasks. The time commitment for participation in the study is approximately 1.5 hours with a base compensation of $10.00. An additional $10.00 can be earned depending on your performance within the task. For those with Parkinson’s Disease, the study consists of a motor exam (MDS-UPDRS) and a reaching experiment. For those without Parkinson’s Disease, the study consists of just the reaching experiment. The experiment will require that you perform some reaching movements while holding the handle of a robotic manipulandum that records where your hand moves. An LCD screen provides task feedback on the success of a particular reach. |
