Description of Study:

The Exergaming Intervention Study
Investigator: Anjana Bhat, PT, PhD
This study aims to examine the perceptuo-motor, cognitive (attention/decision making), and brain activation patterns of typically developing children between 5 and 17 years of age.

WHAT WILL BE INVOLVED?
• This study will involve up to 2 sessions total. Prior to study entry, you must complete a screening process to confirm your child’s eligibility.
• 1-2 testing sessions will be done over 1-3 weeks. The motor and cognitive tests will be completed in-lab and some movement tests could be done remotely, if needed. Each testing session lasts approximately 1-1.5 hours.
• During the testing sessions we examine participant’s motor and social skills during various games involving social interactions, balancing, etc.
• During in-lab testing, participant will wear a cap with sensors to pick up brain activity as well as sensors on his/her arms and feet using elastic bands during march-tap and decision-making tasks.
• Parents will fill out multiple questionnaires to obtain motor and cognitive measures of your child’s development. All testing and multiple training visits will be videotaped so that we may score the participant’s responses later.
• You or your family will receive $20 in gift card upon completing all tests.
• You can help by volunteering for our study. Please call the Move to Learn (M2L) Lab at 1-443-523-8680 or email abhat@udel.edu

Will participants be compensated for participation?
