Description of Study: |
This study is investigating how increased dietary salt intake affects the heart and blood vessels and whether these effects are influenced by aerobic fitness or the amount of aerobic activity a person participates in on a regular basis. Following a 1.5-hour screening visit, participants visit the lab for two 3-hour sessions in which heart and blood vessel health is tested. For 10 days before each study visit, participants take salt or placebo pills in addition to eating their normal diet. Participants are compensated $220 for completing the study. |
