The server migration of the CHRC/CHS REDcap server to the new CHRC REDCap server is complete and the REDCap server is now in normal operational mode.

Please update the bookmark in your browser(s) to: https://redcap.chrc.udel.edu

If you use an App for 2-factor authentication (such as Google Authenticator) to get a code to login to REDCap you need to add the new server to your App. For your first login into the new server use the email option to get a 2-factor authentication code sent to your primary REDCap email. Then login to REDCap, then refer to this document page 2, under section “Two Factor Authentication” to add the new server in your 2FA App.

All links to the old server will be automatically redirected to new server.

Please feel free to login to REDCap  and resume your work, if you notice any problem, please report it immediately to us via REDCap support service.

NOTICE: If you use a token and API to access REDCap don’t forget to update the URL in your API to: https://redcap.chrc.udel.edu/redcap/api

Thank you very much for your patience during the migration process to the new server,

The Center for Human Research Coordination

Summary:

Last updated Oct. 25, 2022

CHRC/CHS instance of REDCap will be OFFLINE from 8:00 AM (EST) December 30, 2022 until 11:59 PM (EST) on January 3, 2023

CHRC/DRI instance of REDCap will no longer accept NEW project creation starting on October 31, 2022

Details:

University of Delaware currently hosts two REDCap instances: CHRC/CHS instance and the CHRC/DRI instance.

CHRC is in the process of merging these two REDCap instances into one instance. This merger will greatly simplify the workflow and user experience for all our users and enable us to provide better and more efficient support to our users without the confusion or complication of which REDCap instance a user’s project is residing on.

This merging process is complicated and will be carried out over several months long period but needs to be initiated by transferring the existing CHRC/CHS REDCap instance to a new modern server with larger storage and better computing capacity. During the transfer process, REDCap must be in offline mode. Therefore the CHRC/CHS instance of REDCap will be OFFLINE and UNAVAILABLE from 8:00 AM (EST) December 30, 2022 until 11:59 PM (EST) on January 3, 2023. After the transfer to the new server, we will contact the users with the new server address so you can update your bookmarks. We are doing our best to minimize the impact on your research, but understand that you may have questions or concerns regarding this process, please feel free to submit a ticket to our REDCap support and we will do our best to help you during this migration process.

Note to users on CHRC/DRI instance of REDCap:

As part of the REDCap merging process described above, starting Oct 31, 2022 we will no longer allow for any NEW projects to be created on the CHRC/DRI instance of REDCap. We ask that all NEW projects be created on the CHRC REDCap instance. Further, in the next months, all projects will have to be moved to either the new server or to our archive server. We will follow up with details on this project migration process and will support you every step of the way. If you have any questions or concerns, please fill out a service request

We will post updates/changes regarding this migration and merger process on this web site.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we go through this complicated process.
